Sustained Investigation #14

This is my sustained investigation #14, inspired by my sustained investigation #13. I wanted to compare a work I mad digitally to one I made physically to see which end result I liked more. I decided that the best way to do this was to create the same piece twice in each way. I wanted to compare the two ways of creating because it was one of my goals for semester 2 to try new things and not make every piece digitally. By comparing the two pieces it gave me insight on which way of creating I liked more.

Making this work digitally definitely took a lot less time than it did to make it physically especially because I was very tedious with making it the first time and using tiny magazine cutouts to glue on. However, I made this work knowing how it would end up and having the plan already done from the first try so I think that is also a reason why it took a lot less time.

Overall, I would say I like my first physical piece more than this one. This surprises me a lot because I thought I was just a lot technically stronger at making digital art but I actually think my shading and use of texture and color are really important in the other piece.
