Sustained Investigation #12

This is my sustained investigation #12, created digitally and inspired by a photo I took of my dog when she was a puppy. I wanted to create this piece because I thought it would be interesting to try making a piece with a lot less contrasting colors than the photos I usually recreate. I wanted to see if it would be a boring or less impressive piece than my other digital works.

I made this work on Acorn by laying over my photo and drawing on top of it. I tried to use a tool that helps you make straight lines but it was messing with my layers of the photo and drawing so I just freehanded the straight lines so they aren't the most crisp but they turned out better than I was expecting.

For this piece I decided to experiment and I left part of the photo in the background as it was. I left the paper bag showing instead of drawing over it in order to create some missing contrast in the piece. I think this was a cool idea and it does show some extra contrast. I also tried to emphasize the can that is on the ground in the photo in order to also create more contrast with the red.
