I created this piece digitally inspired by a photo I took of my goat. I made this piece because I wanted to explore creating more animal forms and practicing making fur. I have done this a few times with my dog portraits so I wanted to see if doing it on those pieces would translate well for this goat piece. The background of the piece was also very blank so I wanted to create the goat with lots of detail so it would pop against the background. I like the way the eyes and outline of the goat turned out and I really like the ears and shading I did especially on those.

As I have been doing many of my works, I did this piece digitally through Acorn. I'm thinking of trying a different application to become more rounded with digital art because I enjoy it a lot. I used a lot of shading techniques on this piece with the different shades of gray, black and blue.

Through creating this piece I made a lot more progress learning good techniques to make fur on the goat. I think this is a good skill to be learning more about because I love making animals in my art. I also think getting lots of practice with digital art is going to translate well with creating physical art on paper if I decide to go back to that way of creating primarily. I experimented on this piece making the form look shaded well. This photo seemed like it was going to be mostly black when I recreated it but I actually realized there was a lot of shades in the goat's hair and nose so I was able to practice and experiment with that.
