New Vision of an Old Work

New Vision of an Old Work

Acrylic Paint

This is my new vision of an old work, I decided to redo my polar bear piece because I think it stuck out the most and was my least strong work. I think my new piece definitely fits with my other works better. I wanted to show the guiding idea of a polar bears habitat melting without putting the actual text on the piece. I did this by using warmer colors and having the bear walking on rocks rather than the blue background that I used in the original version of the project.

I made this work using acrylic paint, one of my favorite mediums to use, I wanted to use my strokes intently which is seen on the rocks and also often struggle with blending colors and shading so I tried to work on that with this project a bit which is also seen on the rocks and with the sunset behind the polar bear.

This project turned out quite close to the way I had planned but it actually looks a lot more realistic than I thought it would so I am happy about the improvement I see with that. I experimented with this project a bit because I wasn't sure about the colors I was using and if I would need to use colors that would pop more but I am glad I stuck with using the darker neutral colors and I think it brings the piece together well and the orange in the sunset works as a pop of color.
