This is my disability inclusion project made for the disability inclusion assignment. I decided to make this drawing of Monica Valentine who was in a bellringer we watched about Creative Growth, a place where people with disabilities can make art and be creative. I found Monica particularly inspiring because she is blind and is able to create art with beads and she can tell the colors from the feel of the beads, which makes no sense to me.

I created this work digitally on Acorn using the paintbrush and paint bucket tools. Typically when I make pieces on Acorn I find a picture and copy it directly on my layer above but for this piece I modified the drawing on top a bit to make it fit what I wanted to do. I also tried something new on the drawing app by doing the lettering which I haven't tried before.

I wanted to keep the drawing of monica neural so I could make the lettering and background pop so I used the grayscale to draw her and shade. This project turned out nothing like I had originally planned but I think the way it turned out is better than what I had originally brainstormed. I made this piece way too small on accident so it looks really pixelated so if I were to go back and improve it or re-do it I would fix that.
