For this project, we were asked to draw our right hand with our left hand, and our left hand with our right hand, all without looking. The, we looked into a mirror and attempted to draw our face, also without looking at the paper. From there, we looked at the collage of hands and face, and were asked to try to draw whatever we wanted from within the shapes we had drawn.
For my creation, I attempted to make as many face looking creatures I could, so know matter which direction you looked at my drawing, you would see something different.
For this project, I used a sharpie for the hands and face, but for the rest I used merely a pencil and an eraser.
My work is kind of a blob of the original hands and face, but from there I added many things to make it have more meaning within my project. I used Pattern, being the many shapes I used consistently. So, I obviously used shape as well. I used unity to make all of the shapes work together, and not make it look out of place. I used a bit of movement to the far "left" side, for it looks to be some fire or something of the sort radiating from the "left" side.
Originally, my project was pretty empty, having a lot of unused space. So, I changed my project and added more different faces to fill up every part of my drawing. This also ended up allowing the project to be looked at from any side.
The thing I am most proud about in this piece, is the "left" hand. I think it came out very well, and adds a different feel to the piece than the other hand, which is much different. I struggled when trying to come up with an idea for the piece in the beginning. I overcame this struggle by seeing all of the different areas that could be faces gave me the inspiration I needed to draw this piece. I think this piece could be stronger if I could change the main center of the project, for I do not think it fits well with the rest of the piece. I might try a different design in the future.
