Time Capsule Drawings

For this project, we were asked to do three quick sketches, one being of an object directly in front of us, one of a building we are looking at, and one self portrait. So, I chose to do my house for the building, my water bottle, and then of course me. All of these things relate to me, since the house is where I live, and my water bottle is of course mine. For each of these projects, I just did the sketch in pencil, and did it right in my sketchbook, so they are very simple. specific elements and principles I used on this project are space, contrast and shape. Since it's only in pencil, the space is important. I used space in a way to make the drawings look full without actually drawing that much. I also used contrast to create a nice difference in light and shade that flows, and shape which I used to create the general outlines for each object before finishing them. This project didn't really evolve, specifically because there is nothing that can really change, as I am just drawing what I am seeing. If I were to continue working on this project, I would begin to add detail to each of these drawings.
