Sustained investigation #7

For this project, and just like all my other sustained investigation projects, I have an inquiry question that I am applying to each and every piece. My inquiry question is, how can I show movement through character design? So, for this piece, I worked digitally, and tried to get a intimidating, dynamic pose this time. Unlike my last character, I decided to draw a lean character, but also had defining muscles. I don't usually draw characters like this, so in comparison to the last character who was much smaller, this was a decent sized change. Getting the pose right took the most time out of this piece. I attempted to get the shape down first using form and shape, and focused on forming the characters stance first. I already had the idea of the pose before hand, and so I sketched it out decently quick before adding details, but it still took a while to get the proportions correct. A dynamic, lean character while also showing muscles was a bit difficult, but still a lot of fun to draw. I decided for this one to go back to doing digital art. I really didn't know where I was gonna go with this, as I just knew of a rough idea, so this piece evolved a bunch. If I were to continue working on this, I would add color to the entire piece, as it feels a little empty without it.
