For this project, we were asked to choose a word to represent the last semester of this year, and then create a 3d project using paper based around that word. So, for this project, I decided to try out origami, and create a paper penguin. Penguins have always been a favorite animal of mine, so being able to create one was very fun for this project. Specifically, we were given paper to use, so I used a large section of that to create the origami penguin. In this project, I used many different principles and elements of art. In this project, I experimented with a ton of different origami styles. I originally couldn't decide what I wanted to make for origami, and I ended up going through a lot of paper on failed attempts. I ended up finally settling on making a penguin, and was much simpler since I am not experienced in origami. I changed my project a lot from the start, mainly because I couldn't decide my level of skill for origami. If I were to continue this project, I would attempt to remake the penguin with better folds, and try to make sure that it is able to stand up, along with redoing the colors.
