Sustained Investigation #3

In this project, we were asked to create a project following the description of what we chose to do. For this project, I chose character design. So, I chose things around the house and put them together to create a character. Specifically, this character relates to my life because since quarantine, almost all of the coffee shops had closed. So, we decided to get Dunkin instead, and we've been getting it almost everyday. How I made this project was I took assorted Dunkin materials, such as cups, napkins, and straws. I also used googly eyes, a big wooden spoon, and a large glass bottle. During this project, I used a variety of different principles and elements of art, such as texture, pattern, and unity. Texture is a pretty common element within 3d art. I used the texture to make a feeling of typical Dunkin Donuts materials. I used pattern with the materials I used, and with the colors, which creates a feeling of unity throughout the piece. Originally, I couldn't decide what I wanted to do for the final piece. I shifted through a few ideas, but I ended up sticking with a coffee idea, since I am addicted. If I was to redo this project, I would have added onto the bottle and creates a seat, or possibly a thrown, which would have added a lot more to the piece, and could have brought more color variety.
