Tulip bulbs are available in packs of 100 for such purposes. Buy them this Fall and plant them before last frost hits. You could have them bloom next Spring.
The risk in Atlanta is that not all winters are cold enough. So many tulip bulbs will turn unviable and not come up in spring or flower. You will then fill up those gaps with plants each year. It is an expensive and in going cost.
Tulip bulbs do not multiply. So there is no separation and replanting.
