Trellis
Cheapest trellis which just serves the purpose with no aesthetic appeal. $0
Every year I use the trimmed branches and use it as trellis for beans , avaraikai, yard long beans etc. Cost is zero dollars as I just repurpose those branches instead of trashing them . At the end of the season , I retain the good ones for next season and I burn the remaining twigs and stems during Dec and use the ash to the plants.
Cattle pannel
Arch
For the past few years, this became the most popular one in the group. It is one of the easiest trellis to install provided you could haul them from TSC. They deliver but delivery is expensive when compared to panel’s cost.
Costs less than $50 per trellis, depending on which type of trellis you like to build
Arch: $40
16’ x 4’. Cattle panel.1 qty - $24
0.5” rebars - 4 qty $4 each - 16
Bend it and place it between two plant beds which are at least separated by 4 feet . Reinforce placing rebars two on each side and fasten with zip ties.
Vertical $44
8’ x 4’ cattle pannel. - 2 qty - $17 each —$34
2-in x 4-in x 8-ft Whitewood Stud. 2qty — $4 each - $8
1 in 4 in x 8 ft wood 1qty - $2
Nail the 1 “ in wood to top portion of the two 2 in wood. Keep the distance between them to at least 5 feet.
Mark based on the structure you built and dig 2 holes of 1 .5 or 2 feet deep. Place the two studs in the holes and pack it tightly. (Optional —To reinforce place the 2Inch wood and pot the concrete). Let it dry and pack it tightly.
Now place one or two cattle panels along side the wood and secure it with zip ties
Variation to the above is keep two cattle panels on both sides of the wood and place them at an angle( a tent shape) and secure it with zip ties.
PVC pipes +metal post
Please refer to Sasikant post about that type. Looks easy to build and should work cheaper than this.
