Sometimes, it is said that the world is made of verbs, thoughts or language.

Do we realize that we are thinking with words?

And that these words create pleasant or unpleasant impressions and states of mind?

Better to know the meaning of the words

if we really want to understand our own thoughts

and the world we are living in.

The beauty of creativity and the contemplation of Mother nature

To think what has never been dreamed before.

And even better, to stop thinking about it.

And the best, not to think at all.

Once upon a time, a king invited every Gurus, spiritual masters, philosophers and sages of his kingdom to tell him the truth. Beautiful men and women came and gathered silently in the courtroom. Then, a poor filthy dirty old man walked into the hall, look with absolute disgust at this people, went straight to the throne, stood on it and succeeded to sit on a high pillar behind it. Everybody was stunned. Nothing could be more insulting than sitting above the king.

Finally, the king came into the hall, saw the man and told him:

"Today, I gather the wisest people of my kingdom to tell me the truth. Not monkeys! How dare you to sit higher than my throne? Only God rules above me."

The old man looked at him down his nose and answered:

"I am higher than God. That's why I sit far above your throne."

The king very angry and ready to kill this insulting man shouted immediately:

"There is nothing above God."

And the old man smiled and told him:

"Nothing?

You are quite right my dear and great king.

Nothing is precisely what I am."

Mind and ignorance

Words describe,

but cannot express the truth.

Better still, they interrupt the process of thought.

It's in the mind that one skims over reality to better ignore it.

Big speeches don't bring us out of our illusions.

The absolute truth cannot be told because it's a lived experience

Language is what we learn just after to be born, even before to walk. There is no language without mental structures, concepts and signs. But mental structures and mind are different. Structures are not only conditionings, they participate to the real nature of the human condition.

History of humankind and its problems start on the other hand when "I" and myself think to be different of a concept. Communication with a language made of concepts and linguistic signs is the most natural faculty of the people. Animals communicate too and they understand perfectly the difference between "I" and others without words.

But if we are seeking the absolute truth, we have to look for it somewhere else than into words and noble thoughts. The path of knowledge is to practice self-inquiry and renunciation. And knowledge itself is the absolute. There is no word in this Yoga, but only a research of understanding.

Understanding is obviously the key of every secrets in the Yoga of knowledge.

And what has to be understood is extremely simple and obvious if you don't look for something else, if we don't complicate everything with words and thoughts.

If we were smart enough to explain and understand, everything would be clear even before to speak about.

"Words are good servants, but bad masters."

Aldous Huxley

When you ask me if now, I am in this state, you obviously think that you are not in it. But if this state is nothing more than to be what you really are, your question has no meaning. To be, to know what being in itself is and the Self are not only words. Have the experience of it because this is the true purpose of spirituality.

"The supernatural is the natural without concept."

Aldous Huxley

Good and evil of "I" getting old

Some years ago, I loved this movie. Now, I find it boring. What did happen? It ages badly!

Everything ends in 5 words :

Om Shanti Shanti Shanti Om

Beyond peace and a peaceful state of mind,

to tell you the truth, there is only words.

Fiction versus truth

Everything has been told a long time ago.

But what has truly been told?

Before like today,

Imagination goes beyond the truth.

"The finger pointing to the moon is not the moon."

Words are pointers.

The description cannot be the reality.

The explanation cannot be the truth.

We can only describe.

If we want to speak about non-duality and experience of the Self or pure consciousness, we can only use a paradoxical language such as : "I lived this amazing experience of pure consciousness where there is no 'I'. The natural state of being is not a state. You must be liberated before to understand that there is no liberation."

It doesn't really make sense but anyway, the life of the ego who is listening to these explanations is even more absurd.

Let’s be sincere.

When we speak about the mind, we absolutely don’t know what we are speaking about. We are like fishes wondering how water could look like. Never mind, we need words to speak about what we understand nothing. Speaking about the unknown with empty words is probably the privilege of humankind.

Antisthenes

"What cannot be said above all must not be silenced but written."

Jacques Derrida

True or false or beyond

You can disprove every mathematical truth with mathematics. This is a truth that every mathematician knows. And you can disprove every concept about the ultimate truth with other concepts. This is also a truth that every sincere thinker knows. So you can only believe in the authenticity of your own experience and intuition. What else if you still need to believe in anything?

We live in a wonderful time

In this age of political correctness, we can wonder if it's still possible to express anything more than noises which nevertheless seem to have a meaning.

Of course, there is nothing else

"The unconscious is structured like a language" Jacques Lacan

(Language, words, thoughts, informations, what we call energy.)

Almost same, but nevertheless different

Better to think than to worry.

Thinking is useful.

Worrying never helps to solve a problem.

We underestimate the power of the words.

So when ?

"Up to now" is a very interesting expression.

I just wonder what it means.

"This is how it always ends…, with death.

But first there was life, hidden beneath blah, blah, blah, blah."

In the movie "La Grande Bellezza" of Paolo Sorrentino

"Letters are written with words and these words have a meaning. But when the reader looks at these words, he gives the meaning that he has of them. And so he misses the true meaning or ideas of the one who wrote them. It’s obvious, and you will easily understand it, that unless the reader got the same meaning and idea of the one who wrote the words, he will never understand what it is all about."

Letter of Svami Prajnanpad to Daniel, the 19 january 1964

Knowing and experiencing

Words enable us to know that "I and me exist" and not that consciousness experiences its own bliss.

"From the moment I picked your book up until I laid it down,

I convulsed with laughter.

Someday I intend on reading it."

Groucho Marx

"The words of the sage are very easy to understand and yet, it seems as if no one in the world understand them."

Taoist quote from Chu-feng

Who’s who and what ?

Words are there in order to let us know that we exist when we think.

Without them, it's another story... without commentary.
