June 21st is the longest period of daylight, the most perfect day for a good "cleanup".

It also marks the summer solstice in the Northern Hemisphere and the winter solstice in the Southern Hemisphere, when the Sun reaches its highest position in the sky.

Since it is a quite extreme position, it could be a good idea to renew oneself and go into more essential dissertations.

So don't worry, this website is far from over. A blank slate doesn't deny what has already been said and written, it's just a cleanup and let us see what's really important in our life, spiritual or just ordinary life.

See you soon..., every beginning of the month as usual.

Spirituality is not for dinner party conservation,

but subject to meditation.

The Self

The Self, the only eternal "witness",

cannot become the object of a mental experience,

that is to say of a perception.

Sat-Chit-Ananda, pure being, pure consciousness and pure bliss,

cannot look like a peaceful, majestic, empty and infinite space

where one would have the personal impression of being happy or in ecstasy.

Any experiences of spiritual awakening, non-duality,

transcendence or immanence are essentially illusory.

The Self cannot appear as the object of an experience

because it will always be the witness of that experience.

Consciousness and mind are totally different,

but both are fully known.

Consciousness cannot manifest itself

because it is the faculty of knowing what manifests.

Mysticism is one thing,

spirituality, wisdom, quest for the truth and

for Self-realization are something else.

To realize the Self, our true nature,

it's being, to be and that's all,

absolutely all !

The mystical trap

Stop searching for a non ordinary experience

if you don't want to fall in a new trap and always deeper into the mind.

Nothing is more natural, simple and ordinary than the Self.

Consciousness is and has always been our true nature.

Sit down and see by yourself,

and if you want to sit down, it's not going to change anything

because the witness is changeless, absolutely immutable.

It can only see and know.

And that's why it's also called "knowledge",

and so "the path of knowledge".

Enjoy the fact of being purely conscious,

what else could you do anyway ?

That said, if you imagine that the right path,

spiritual practices and conceptual knowledge, ego and mind are useless,

you have fallen into another trap,

and that one is even worse.

A spiritual quest worthy of the name begins with the Dharma, a personal, moral and social discipline that enables us to be and live properly with the Self, the Divine and the cosmic order that manifests all things.

And it ends by realizing that this Dharma, Tao or cosmic order is what determines the manifestation of pure being, the Divine and everything, including our own existence as a person with a life far from perfect.

Everything between the beginning and the hypothetical end of this quest is only spiritual experiences, experiences which are not useless if they happen, but unrelated to a real realization, and in this case with the realization of the Self and the presence of the Divine in all things, that is to say in itself and everywhere in the universe, our own life and mind.

Spiritual experiences teach many lessons and truths, life in general does nothing else, and it does it without ecstasy, but certainly in a much more direct and comprehensible way. On the other hand, the realization of the Self and the Divine is simply the revelation of an obvious fact that we can infinitely discover till the end of time or totally ignore, that in either cases will never change what it is anyway. And such a revelation radically changes everything we are, live and can imagine if we give it any importance, which is not an obligation.

We can realize the presence of the Self and the Divine, of this perfection in everything and within ourselves as our true nature, but they will never force us to admire it, and in the present case, to admire means truly to realize what this cosmic order, the Self and the Divine are.

In other words, there can be no real realization of the Self and the Divine if we are still in conflict with ourselves, with what we are and live, and with the world in which we find ourselves. Perfection is everywhere or nowhere, and if someone imagines that it is only within himself or he is an incarnation of it, he should go see a psychiatrist and stop his spiritual quest at least for a while until he recovers from his delusion.

Dharma is the path, the foundation of all spirituality, practice and knowledge, but also the cosmic, moral, and social order that manifests the Self and the Divine in our own life. And when we are able to apprehend its manifestation, we obviously realize what they are, absolutely perfect, pure and infinite.

Between the Dharma, the perfection of this cosmic, moral and social order that we can accept or reject, recognize or ignore, and the manifestation of the universe, the world and our life which seem really imperfect, we can wonder what could be the true relationship between the two, how perfection could engender what appears absolutely imperfect. And the answer is obvious, the perfection of this cosmic order within every manifestation is nothing but the Karma, the relation of cause and effect that no science and spiritual knowledge can ignore.

To sum up, when we are and live in perfect harmony with this cosmic, moral and social order at the origin of every manifestation, the realization of the Self and the Divine is a fact we only have to watch and enjoy, and no mystical experience could or need to help this absolutely sublime revelation. And if we are not living in perfect harmony with this cosmic order, it is simply our fault because at any moment of time we have at our disposal all the spiritual means, techniques, knowledge and the intelligence to admire it.

In order to be even more clear, if we understand the true meaning of Dharma, of the path we have chosen for our own spiritual quest, that's already the main realization, the only one that can free us instantly from suffering. All else is entertainment and spiritual performance or things which don't concern us anyway as long as we are alive. No one can buy a one way ticket to heaven. What happens after death is no longer our choice when we have had it all the time during our life. And it is again the relation of cause and effect, this absolutely perfect cosmic order, which will determine the following events.

Good luck if you don't pay attention to the Dharma and think it's only an obsolete tradition without importance. Dharma and Brahman, the cosmic order and the Divine or the Self are absolutely identical. So if you ignore this cosmic order right here and right now, what do you truly expect to realize, a nonsensical dream of liberation ?

The expression of this cosmic order is in fact everything we can perceive inside and outside ourselves, and everything we can grasp with our intelligence and mind. A spiritual quest which doesn't emphasize its importance and omnipotent presence is insane or completely stupid.

Clean slate and very basic indeed

Do you really need a so-called guru to remind you, as if you didn't know it, that you should always try to do your best in order to be "Just and Correct" in everything and everywhere instead of celebrating "The Cult of the Ego" : egoism, hypocrisy and greed, taught in our competitive culture of heroes and superstars, of Reality Shows only good to make a fool of oneself ?

Do you truly need an awakened master liberated from his or her ego, suffering or I don't know what else to only tell you that in having your "mind and conscience in peace", you will feel much better and probably a lot more happy ?

Do you need a spiritual guide, coach or facilitator just to inform you that "integrity, sincerity and simplicity" will free you from all your pretensions and illusions which make you as much unhappy as if you were living in hell ?

Are wisdom and liberation about "Spiritual Maturity" or "infantilization" with a big daddy or big mommy who really believe to be teachers and super heroes ?

At any moment of time, you can choose between sheer stupidity and basic common sense.

And nobody can teach you what the best choice will be because you already know it.

What is spirituality for you ?

"Integrity"

That's all that is really important to understand in spiritual matters,

the rest is a nice story that you cannot be sure to be true.

If you think that a miracle, an awakening or spiritual experience, knowledge, book or speech can free you from your own existential misery, you are likely to wait for it a very long time, and even after such an awakening, assuming that you might have the chance to experience it, which, as we know for a very long time in the history of mysticism, happens to some and will never occur to the others.

If, on the other hand, you understand that the practice of a spirituality "right and correct", that is to say honest and without pretension, can free you instantly, at least from your illusions, which will always create more suffering, and of course free you as long as you practice, you will not waste your time in spiritual dreams and transcendental hope, and even less deluding yourself and, in fact, being depressed without really being aware of it.

Remains to know what to practice.

In this regard, the most obvious fact is that you are the only one who knows it and who can determine at least for you what is right and correct. You obviously have the intelligence to know very precisely what you really need. No Guru or spiritual guide will be able to teach you because you already understand very well and without any doubt what right and correct are when it concerns you personally, when it touches your own well-being, which as such cannot be different from the one of the others.

So sit back, relax and contemplate with pleasure the prodigious show of your own thoughts, your souvenirs, your past, your vision of the future, your dreams, everything you have done and continue to be in your life, the psychodramas and roles that you interpret at least in your imagination, admire the beauty of your selfishness, hypocrisy and greed, but also all your qualities and situations where you have proved that you could be smart. Don't be afraid, all these mental manifestations and reality-shows tell you the truth, your own truth and the one you're searching for, or at the very least where to find it.

What do you really expect from spirituality ? Being free, in bliss, out of your mind, and that's it ? Come on, let us be a little bit serious for the very beginning of this new and great spiritual year. In spiritual matters, there is certainly a lot more to discover than a peaceful state of mind liberated from worry, which will inevitably become sooner or later boring, and moreover which will never be permanent as any other states of mind.

Is the mind good or bad, positive or negative, interesting or so useless that it would be much better to live without ? Is it possible to understand its own language or is it completely absurd and even sometimes infernal, satanic and hurting you for its own pleasure ? It shows us the evolution of our real needs, of our instinct to survive against all odds, and without which we would not live like animals in a jungle we consider civilized or as a human beings who respects ourselves by respecting the others. You are a spiritual being, it is very good to know, but don't forget that without your body and the faculties of your brain, that is to say your mind, you would not exist in this world and even less could dream of spiritual liberation or transcendental experiences. What do you really know about the afterlife or the beyond ? Absolutely nothing, except what you imagine about it, your own subjectivity even during transcendental experiences. So why not to start being human and why not humane too ?

Nowadays it is very trendy to consider that the mind is kind of hell and the ego nothing less than the devil that we would simply have to destroy or at least free ourselves from by giving it no more importance. And in truth, we would be the universal and cosmic consciousness, the supreme being in a state of absolute bliss, or in other words God who would have a human experience and nothing else, and especially not a human being who could have a divine experience like all the others. But if that were true, you would be unable to complain about anything, no thought could disturb you. God surely does not intend to suffer for you and if you are truly this God, how could you suffer from what you are, absolutely divine and omnipotent, and especially in a state of perpetual happiness till the end of time ?

Is such a spirituality or neo paradigm right and correct, or just a little bit sensible ? Does it express the slightest reality and fact of life, something that you would be able to embody and live in this world of sometimes pleasing realities, but also at other times disconcerting and often offensive ?

You live with all your mental faculties, with all that you have been and made of, with what you are and will do, that is to say with all you know about the unconscious and the mind, and be sure that they will never leave you neither when you are awake nor when you dream and sleep, and even after death if you understand what the concept of "Karma" means and why the soul seeks to mature throughout many reincarnations.

Therefore, instead of trying to ignore by all possible means this mind and ego by redefining with metaphysical concepts of senseless non-duality your own existence, which determines as much your perceptions of the outside world as your small inner universe in which you stand alone inevitably and until death, see for yourself what the mind tells you and repeats tirelessly. Perhaps he has something very interesting to tell you. Why his function would be to poison your own existence continually ? Can we decently conceive that we are born with a useless mind and mental faculties and whose sole purpose would be to make us suffering ?

Don't imagine that if the mind determines your suffering and hell, your inner demons and the devil, it is silly. Where do you expect to find your own intelligence ? Outside your mind and mental faculties, outside your brain, outside your body made of flesh and blood, beyond your human condition ? But if that were the case, you should be superhuman and no longer need to suffer for nothing, just for ridiculous thoughts that would have the power to disturb your inner life. Where could you find your mental suffering and dissatisfaction if not in your own thoughts and emotions, in being able to express intelligently that you cannot stand reality as it is and a reality that will not change anyway even regarding what you have been in the past and which of course gives rise to what you are now ?

What meaning do you give to suffering, which manifests itself obviously in the present and without your consent, your perpetual dissatisfaction, a conflict, a neurosis, the smallest thing that bothers you, a simple desire that no longer allows you to be happy and in peace with what you are and have now ? Do you honestly think that the only thing to do is to find the way to get rid of every problem as quickly as possible, that is to say turn your head and flee, without even trying to understand what the mind is trying to explain and repeat constantly ? If it expresses dissatisfaction, it is probably for very good reasons. Everyone makes mistakes in this world, nobody is perfect, is it a good pretext to stay ignorant and be satisfied of ourselves just as we are, and not try to learn anything and improve our life ? Does all spirituality boil down to a kind of mental anesthesia, which would allow us to live like perfect happy idiots ?

You will easily understand that all your inner conflicts even the most innocuous determine that something is wrong with you, that you cannot be and live in peace with reality as it really is, a reality that reveals what you are personally or the outside world in which you live like everyone else. So what can you do if not to readjust yourself to that reality as it is, which, as far as the outside world is concerned, will not change. What can you do if not to start watching carefully what it is, what's wrong and having the courage to face it ? You cannot imagine that it is up to the reality of the outside world to readjust itself to your own desires or past events to change, that will never happen. So what's left to be and do ? You are the only person who knows it and in fact, you already know the answer. Everyone knows it, but no one wants to see it because it no longer allows us to enjoy our dear self-satisfaction more than the others and most often to their own detriment.

If spirituality is really interesting, if it's a real path of liberation, practice, embody your own spiritual life, show to others and yourself what you can do instead of speaking of or just be satisfied of thinking about it from time to time. Spirituality is not a subject of talk in a lovely living room or on the terrace of a coffee shop, let alone within yourself. You have a spiritual life that you inevitably live or you have no spiritual consciousness at all. You are the only person who knows it and can enjoy it before everyone else. Regarding the show of your spiritual, emotional, intellectual, social or material life, remember that you will always be in the first rank and totally alone with your own inner life. So now it's up to you to choose how to live it and what you can do with it. The mind is a gold mine of information you can use in the right way and really enjoy or in the wrong way which will make a hell out of your life. It's up to you.

Best wishes for this new year 2018.

And if these wishes come down to simply being honest as a good human being, so much the better for you, at least you will be sure to be truly spiritual and a seeker of truth.

Basic psychology

Life has meaning or doesn’t have any.

And if yours doesn’t really make sense,

it will sooner or later lead to deep affliction,

kind of despair and discouragement,

loss of taste for the good things in life

that no one really wants.

The most undeniable meaning that life can have is quite simple and obvious indeed :

"Life is a teaching, it’s learning."

Such a definition of life is in fact a lot more positive than simple,

it actually allows to accept and stand up with everything

while seeking to understand what it really wants from us,

what is really there to learn ?

If life is only a kind of entertainment,

means of satisfying an infinite number of desires

and in truth constantly spend our time solving the problems,

which prevent the satisfaction of those desires,

we know where it leads :

"Perpetual dissatisfaction and countless sufferings"

all more useless than each other.

What life can teach us personally

no guru can and should speak about.

You are the only person who truly knows what you need to realize.

"The time of gurus is over."

Infantilization no longer makes sense.

Trust no longer exists when it’s impossible.

The age of corruption and decadence doesn’t allow it anymore.

Traditions are definitively over, profit is taking over everywhere.

But after touching the bottom, good things happen too,

we can only come back to the surface and at last breathe again.

"The time of Gurus is just beginning"

And it's quite possible that they and their teachings

will be very different from anything we could expect.

If you seek nevertheless truth and spiritual liberation

as we usually understand spiritual quest,

it's up to you to play the right game knowing that you will be alone till the end anyway,

as a matter of fact, nothing really new.

But this age of corruption and decadence also gives access

to all the most authentic sacred knowledge of all time,

those that were exclusively reserved for an elite.

So, rejoice, time to really learn is just beginning.

More simple than obvious

Searching for enlightenment and liberation truly means searching for "nothing at all",

and yet enjoying a state of perfect plenitude and contemplation

while treading the Tao and respecting the Dharma,

both being the most obvious expression of the cosmic order

of everything inside and outside ourselves.

The total absence of desire and volition determines that specific state

we can very easily discover in the practice meditation.

In fact, it’s the path of extreme simplicity and self-satisfaction

on which any sort of self-importance is only a big joke,

but a stupid joke that might cost a lot and hurt pretty badly.

As for enlightenment and liberation,

it’s surely the same, but without self-satisfaction.

What for anyway ?

"To be" is the very state of being as it is,

and there is nothing to do with and about it.

To realize it is more than enough.

Enlightenment

No need to knock,

the door is always open.

Obvious duality

We cannot know where we are going when we don't know where we come from. Ignoring ancient wisdom and sacred knowledge is the best way to get lost in a spirituality that has no direction and real meaning.

When we really want to know where we are going, we have to remember where we come from. It's not by making a clean sweep of the past that we can express any intelligence or creativity.

Everyone knows that a newborn baby is unable to survive on its own. Should we then infer that the wisdom of the ancients is still very valid and even more precious than ever in a culture where scientific knowledge seems to be the new sacred paradigm despite the fact that the sacred will never be new nor brought up to date ? We take it as it is and as it has always been or we leave it. There is no New Age as far as spirituality is concerned and there is obviously no new divine principle, Gods and spiritual knowledge except the one created by humans in order to celebrate their megalomania.

Denying the dualistic mental and human condition of everyone in favor of a so-called spiritual knowledge freed from all dogma, tradition, duality, practice and moral value is nothing more than falling into a cultural savagery, which will of course never have any sort of liberating effects. Such an understanding of so-called spirituality has nothing to do with any kind of awakening of consciousness, realization and liberation.

No offense to the neo kangurus of our time, we do not learn the alphabet starting with the letter Z, we do not teach an awakening of Kundalini by physical force and contortions without first cleansing, or if you prefer, sort out and put all Chakras in order, i.e. all levels of our personal, physical, sexual, emotional and mental existence, we do not lead people on a direct path to enlightenment or spiritual awakening without worrying how they will survive after the final or momentary destruction of the mind and its illusions.

Such a spiritual awakening more mystical than really wise has to be put in due perspective so that it loses its absolute and universal nature and acquires a meaning, which will make the individual simply able to live afterward a normal life in the known and ordinary world where he used to live with his body and mind. And that can only happen if we establish a solid groundwork, if the spiritual guide teaches a decent path and knowledge, if the seeker of truth can rely on a sacred and sensible model able to structure the mind because in almost any cases, the personal and ordinary mind with its personal identity, the ego, will necessary have to reappear.

Without a minimum of wisdom, intelligence or just common sense, which allows us to define and know what we are searching for and what could happen if we find it, a quest for spiritual liberation is nothing less than madness and it will lead at the very least to serious mental disorders, the peculiarity of spirituality taught nowadays by Westerners and others, yes, without forgetting many others who are in no way better in spite of their very folkloric and lovely costume no more liberated than ours.

Without Dharma, a right and correct path, which cannot be nonsensical, but on the contrary, has to take into account the duality between good and bad, what we like and dislike at least for ourselves, something we will never forget anyway as long as we still live with a body, nervous system and brain, there is absolutely no spiritual quest worth of the name. To better understand such an evidence, just ask yourself if you would prefer to live with a good physical, mental and emotional health or spiritually liberated, but unfortunately locked up in a psychiatric asylum with a straitjacket and moreover a terminal cancer.

And if we think for psychological, cultural, metaphysical, apparently very spiritual and frankly speaking ridiculous reasons that our body and mind are mere illusions, in other words, we are not sentient, sensitive, dissatisfied, suffering and somehow traumatized being, and of course for obvious reasons in search for liberation, we don't have to worry a lot about the insanity of that kind of spirituality because life and the cosmic order will always be there to make us come back to reality as it is, the reality of what we are as human beings, we like it or not. But this involuntary coming back or free fall might also be very painful.

So what's the point of trying to leave this reality as it is right from the beginning of a spiritual quest ? Because we cannot stand it as it is ? Starting with the premise that we are divine beings or God Himself, who for the sake of entertainment would need to enjoy human experiences, is the direct path to a mental slaughterhouse, Prozac or suicide.

To take oneself for God always ends very badly. It's useless to explain why because everybody knows it very well even people who don't believe in God. We even have in our own culture the remarkable example of a highly celebrated person who implied it by speaking only of love, by simply transmitting a message of love and respect to oneself and the others. And what did happen ? The poor man finally was tortured, crucified and in order to be sure that he was dead and will never utter a word again, he was pierced with a spear. Isn't it enough as a very clear warning and true spiritual teaching ?

When some kind of crazy teacher claims that he or she is and we are all universal consciousness, Sat Chit Ananda, pure and perfect bliss, the absolute and non-duality or other idiocies of this kind, no matter what the words he or she uses, such a so-called spiritual guide explicitly teaches that we are God and nothing else. So let us not forget how that will end at least for ourselves and good luck for the so-called guru. After all, Karma works very well in any ways and for everybody.

To assert that we are human beings of a purely conscious nature, nothing more than conscious beings, or in other words that the true nature of our own earthly existence and mental faculties is conscious or consciousness itself, such statements are self-evident even though we are unable to explain precisely what this consciousness could really be, this remarkable mental faculty, which allows us to know all that we are and the world we live in. No doubt that such an evidence can be the starting point for a genuine spiritual inquiry and a smart meditative introspection.

But to assume right form the beginning that we are this universal, divine, supreme, ultimate and non-dual consciousness is simply to put the cart before the horse, smash of course the cart and perhaps also kill the horse, that is to say to destroy ourselves and sanity. And as a spiritual path, we can easily suppose that there is much better spiritual paths.

Let us go back to the sacred of immemorial knowledge at least as a clean source of inspiration and without forgetting anything that could disturb us in a world devoid of morality and common sense. The so-called gurus who do not again and again and always begin and end their teaching with in their own way "Do not do unto others what you don't want others do unto you" have absolutely nothing to teach. Self-respect by respecting the one of others is the point of departure and arrival of all spiritual quests. And it goes without saying that respect doesn't mean the absence of critics or the zombification of mind with positive thinking more politically correct than smart.

All the rest beyond this "universal respect" are just words, descriptions, belief systems, impressions, sensations, moods and personal states of mind purely "subjective" in every sense of the word. It doesn't mean they are bad or useless, but secondary because a spiritual quest is obviously before anything else a process of mental purification. And with just a little bit of perspicacity, we can question the point of it, why don't we search only pleasure ?

We may not like the word "purification" in our culture and think it's completely obsolete, it's nevertheless an obvious fact in every serious spiritual quest. And we may even wonder if we could still speak in our ultra modern world of authentic spirituality and wisdom without being accused of being reactionary or only have idle talks about narcissistic and completely psychotic liberation.

That being said and hopefully understood, if respect for oneself while respecting others is the point of departure and arrival for any spiritual quest, almost all seekers of truth and enlightenment are going to burst out laughing or get really angry. How could a spiritual quest be simply boiled down to the concept of respect, nothing more than a feeling of deep consideration or admiration for someone or something that is held sacred ? Would not someone like Ramana Maharshi have realized anything more or better ?

It goes without saying that the point of departure and the point of arrival are not quite the same, although their true nature is identical. It is obvious that respect for oneself while respecting others, a respect that cannot really exist without the respect of others, is opposed to contempt, insolence and so on. or more simply put to a lesser degree, egoism in general that everyone expresses naturally. In other words, respect requires that the person makes an effort of understanding, but which must also be expressed through actions and behaviors a priori unusual, abnormal and not spontaneous. That determines the starting point, a starting point that usually begins from childhood.

Now let us take a quick look at the point of arrival. For example, suppose that after a long or very short quest for truth and enlightenment full of non-ordinary experiences or without any mystical experience at all, you would realize that this profound respect for oneself and others has become completely natural, spontaneous. and without the least effort, without any mental, nervous and emotional stress, what would that really mean ? Respect for oneself and others, that is to say, the other, other things and so everything else that is not oneself, obviously determines respect for the whole universe and everything in it, including oneself sometimes also called the other me or other I, the mind itself. In other words, that kind of respect, perhaps a little out of the ordinary, would express nothing more than a perfect adaptation or, more properly speaking, an acceptance and readjustment to the cosmic order, which rules over all manifestations in the universe, our inner universe and the outer world we live in.

Does that remind you a little of Lao Tzu's words about the Tao or Buddha's about the Dharma, the cosmic order and fourth noble truth he proposes in order to put an end to suffering and dissatisfaction, that is to say to be totally liberated from ? Is there in this world an authentic spiritual teaching, which doesn't lead to inner peace, a perfect serenity that can only be discovered by living in the reality where we are and live of course with ourselves, others and a real world that we didn't choose ?

It doesn't matter we call this micro and macro-cosmic readjustment respect for oneself and others, ultimate simplicity, surrendering, the absence of the mind and ego, spiritual liberation, self-realization, enlightenment, awakening, Tao, Dharma, universal order, inner peace or by 36 other expressions, it is enough to understand the principle and implement it by ultra simple and natural means such as the respect that even an animal understands very well without the faculty to intellectualize it.

Quest for Self-realization and readjustment to cosmic order are absolutely identical. There is no difference between enlightenment and being totally free in a reality, which doesn't allow us to be and do as we like, The only distinction we can find between spiritual liberation and the unbreakable laws ruling over the cosmic order is the simple evidence that we cannot know what the Self is as long as we are searching for it, whereas the cosmic order reveals itself everywhere and all the time, as much inside ourselves, in our thoughts, feelings and mental life, than outside ourselves, the world we live in and we may call whatever we like.
