Now, you should download and review the Standards for Editing, Proofreading, and Critiquing, which is located in the Guidebooks tab in EditorWorks™. These are the quality standards to which you will be expected to adhere. The first section provides the standards for editing, the second section provides the standards for proofreading, and the third section provides the standards for critiquing. An editor's checklist is also provided.

We don't expect you to memorize this manual, but you should become very familiar with it as soon as possible.

We also suggest that you review a few other documents in the Guidebooks tab. We provide some samples of what we consider five star edits: Scribendi - Five-Star Admissions Essay, Scribendi - Five-Star Edit, Scribendi - Five-Star Fiction Edit, Scribendi - Five-Star Proofread, Scribendi - ESL Five-Star Edit, Scribendi - Five-Star Resume Edit, Scribendi - Five-Star Business Edit, and Scribendi - Five-Star Query Package. These should give you a great idea of what should be provided to our clients in various services.

Please also review the Scribendi - QA Instructions (in the Quality Documents section of the Guidebooks tab in EditorWorks), which outlines the QA process and indicates how we evaluate completed orders in relation to our quality standards. This document is basically like a QA cheat sheet, outlining every type of error and issue that we'll be evaluating editors on, so please make sure to check this out!
