Client Notes
Client Notes
The first step is to paste your notes into the Notes field.
It can help to write your notes in another program, like Word, so that you can spell-check them before pasting them in. Notes written on the fly with lots of typos do not inspire client confidence about the work you've just done on their document.
Your notes should contain a brief summary of what you've done for them and/or perhaps your overall recommendations on the next step. Remember that in addition to being grammatically correct, your notes should be friendly, helpful, and encouraging. Think in terms of what would make you return as a customer.
To help us be consistent with clients regarding our services, please refrain from using the word "edit" or "edits" when you have done a proofreading job. For editing and proofreading services, please provide the client with the following link to the technical FAQ question that shows them how to accept changes and delete comments in two clicks: https://www.scribendi.com/faq/technical.en.html. Please also provide an explanation of how to request an editor for a future order.
Example text: If you wish to request me for a future order, you can do this during the order process after uploading your document. There is a text box at the bottom of the order page that says "Editor Code (Optional)". Just type my editor code, EMXXXX, in this space. When you place your order, the system will automatically send your request to me.
When you've pasted everything in, click "Add Notes." Please note that the button on the screen is fairly small, and if you fail to click the "Add Notes" button, your notes will be lost when you upload a file, refresh the screen, or return the order.
After adding the notes, double-check them on the screen. You may find, when they're displayed in a different color and font, that you suddenly spot an error. You may decide you want to add something. Click "Edit Notes" to change them.
