Right to Left Text in Comment Boxes
Right to Left Text in Comment Boxes
The comments in a document with right to left text will stay formatted right to left even if you change the text in the body of the document. To reformat them as left to right, follow these steps.
1. Click the Home tab, click the small arrow underneath the Change Styles button. Look where the red arrow is pointing in the following image. Alternatively, you can click Ctrl + Alt + Shift + S.
2. That will bring up the menu in the following picture. Click the Manage Styles icon (the red arrow is pointing at it).
3. This will bring up the Manage Styles menu. Select Comment Text (Hide Until Used). If you can't find it, use the dropdown menu at the top to sort the order of the items alphabetically. After selecting Comment Text, click the Modify button.
4. Once you click the Modify button, a new window will open up with several more dropdown menus. Look at the dropdown menu next to "Style based on." You'll notice that the default setting is that the comment text is based on the Normal template. In a right to left document, the Normal template is formatted right to left (obviously). Use the dropdown menu to base the comment text on "(no style)." See the picture below.
5. At that point, you are done! But we'll show you one more great trick while we're still in this menu. It has to do with setting the language of the comment boxes. After you've selected "no style," click the Format button at the bottom of the menu. You'll see the following dropdown menu.
6. Select Language, and you'll see another (perhaps very familiar) menu (shown below). Select the version of English the client would like you to use, and you are good to go.
If you make several attempts to change the text and are still having no luck, contact the Duty Editor for help.
