File Types and File Handling
File Types and File Handling
Clients submit orders with many different file types. To determine how to handle different file types when completing an order, it is VITAL to review the Scribendi - File Type Handling Guide to ensure that the correct process is followed. You can find the Scribendi - File Type Handling Guide in the Key Scribendi Guidelines section of the Guidebooks tab in EditorWorks™.
Please remember that you should typically never change the client's file type; if the file type provided by the client is one that Scribendi accepts, you will edit the file provided and return it to the client as the same file type. This also means that you should not change a PDF to a Word file, edit it, change it back to a PDF, and then return it to the client. The PDF should be edited and returned as a PDF. If you see a file type that isn't covered in the guide, please notify Customer Service immediately so we can investigate. The scenarios referenced in the Scribendi - File Type Handling Guide are fully explained in "The Scribendi System" section.
