Still Life

The subject of this image is a still life about me. I took this picture on the floor near a glass door where sun was shining in. To take this image I used my digital camera. I wanted to make a still life self portrait of sorts and include my concentration-lighting. The window shadow outlines the still life. There are four distinct lines from the shadow, there is color from the rug and different objects, space where the objects are not and where the shadow is not. There is the pattern of the rug and emphasis on the objects in direct sunlight.

In this image there is formal balance because there are three objects on each side of the picture. Leading lines because the shadow lines lead to each group of objects. Grouping of objects. Framing from the shadow. Sharp focus because everything is in focus in the picture. This picture didn't change much. I adjusted the lighting and color using photos.

I wanted to make a still life about something or someone, not just a bunch of random objects. I chose to do myself because that's what I had around me. There is a camera because I love photography, two mangoes because I love fruit, a passport because I love to travel and I want to travel more, the sunglasses and wallet belong to me. This relates to my life because I set up the still life and it's about me and what I like. I think the sun's glare on some of the objects is distracting and I could photoshop them out. Also if I was to retake this picture I would place the objects in the quadrants the shadows make because a few of them are very dark because they're in the shadow.
