The subject of these images are different plants with bright colored flowers and leaves. I took all of these images outside when it was sunny out. To take these images I used my digital camera with my 50-200mm lens. I used my laptop to edit them. I chose to take these images of bright-colored plants because spring was late this year and the flowers suddenly burst with color. In these images there are vivid colors, texture is clear and there is pattern within the plants. There is contrast between the colors.

In all of these images there is informal balance and rule of thirds because the images have different amounts of the subject and parts of images are "heavier" in subject than others. There is selective focus because the flowers are in focus while the backgrounds are out of focus. All of these images have high-key lighting because the sun highlighted the bright colors of the flowers. To edit these I used Photos to change the brilliance, contrast, exposure and saturation. I also cropped a few of them so the subject became clear.

These images are supposed to emphasize the bright-colors of spring in Maine, how much of a relief it was to all of us who went through the ridiculously long winter this year. I also titled each photo based off what the color means. This project relates to my life because I took all of these images of flowers and plants around my home. I like all of these images a lot, but if I was to retake images or add to my collection I would use my macro lens and take even closer pictures of the flowers.
