Line Value Scale

Our assignment was to use lines, not shading to make a value scale. To do this I used a pencil and paper, elements such as line and value and a principle of design, patterns. I used patterns and lines to fill up the boxes and show to show value. It evolved from a blank rectangular piece of paper to 10 boxes showing value. For the patterns I found patterns in nature that we see in our everyday lives. I am proudest of my patterns and ability to use lines to show value, I struggled with making the lines light enough or dark enough, getting the right value. If I could fix something I would use better line quality, the boxes look sloppy.
