Schaller lives in London where he takes most of his pictures. He is primarily a black and white film photographer. Most of his images are candids of people, animals and events.
Artist Statement:
The subject of these images is work inspired by an artist. I took this collection in a variety of places, all outdoors with the sun shining. I took these images using my digital camera. The goal was to take images with unique lighting and the edit them to be black and white. These images are all candids.
In first two images there is silhouette lighting shown. In many of them there is rule of thirds and selective focus. Thee bottom four are in sharp focus. All of these images were originally in color. I used photos to change the exposure, contrast and color levels. I also cropped a few of them so the focus point was more obvious.
Alan Schaller is a film photographer. he is know for his stunning capture of lighting and candid shots. I tried to take pictures inspired by this style. To do so I kept my camera with me and was always ready to find a perfect shot. All of these images are things I saw in my life. I think that I could have done a better job with taking images similar to his. This was difficult because he lives in London where there is cool architecture and lots of people. My images were mostly taken in more natural settings of the outdoors.
