The Collage

The assignment was to make a surrealist collage and paint a reproduction of it. I looked through magazines and found different colors. My subject is an abstract paint pallet, the colors are pictures. For my collage I used pictures from magazines and for the painting I used canvas paper and paint. I originally was going to do something else, but I had trouble mixing the right colors so I changed my idea. It relates to my life because It is an art pallet and I'm in art class. I am happy with the color mixing and how accurate the colors are for the most part. I struggled with mixing the purples and greens, I let them dry and tried again and I got it right. The strips of color in the background need a few more coats of paint and the background needs another coat of black paint. Overall I think it turned out okay and I'm happy with it.
