The subject of this image is two apples, one red and one green. I took this image in my kitchen. I used a flashlight and my camera to take this picture. I chose to create this image because red and green are complementary and I incorporated my concentration with the shadows of the apples. This picture shows color and texture of the apples. The shadows show unity of the apples.
The apples are not in the center of the image which shows rule of thirds, the apples are in focus and the shadows aren't which shows selective focus and the apples are right next to each other which shows grouping. I cropped this image so there was less white in the background and I adjusted the lighting so it was darker-this made the apples less shiny.
These shadows remind of detective movies when someone stands in the doorway and there's a long shadow in front of them. My original idea was that the apples would be detectives investigating the murder of an orange carrot, but I decided to just do the apples. This project relates to my life because I chose how the apples' shadows should fall and then I captured it and edited it. One thing I don't like about this image is the shiny spots on the apples, to change this I would have to retake the image or I could use the clone stamp to get rid of the spot.
