The project was to make a wire sculpture of an object so I chose to do my shoe. To make my shoe I twisted to pieces of wire together to make a sturdy base. I did this twice for the sole of the shoe and then connected them double wire bits with hooks at the ends so then it stood up on its own. Next I made the toe arch out of wire and hooked that to the sole. I took a long piece of wire and my actual shoe and shaped the wire over my shoe for the fabric part of my shoe, i attached it to the sole and added the tongue. I struggled with my shoe because it was kind of lopsided, if I was to remake it I would make the top and bottom of the sole the same size. I added a circle and Mr. A made me a star and I attached those to my shoe. Mr. A then reminded me that there van't be any open planes so I closed the bottom plane with wire at an angle and the sides of my shoe with wire at an angle. This sculpture relates to my life because it is my shoe that I wear on a regular basis. If I were to improve something I would tighten where I connected the wire with hooks and make some of them less like hinges and there is one spot that it mess of wire and I would make that neater. I am very happy with how it turned out and I'm proud that it actually looks like my shoe!
