The QuickEasy Planning Board combines the simplicity of a manual production board with the processing power of a computer to free production staff from wasting valuable time attending to progress queries. In addition it ensures that your jobs are delivered on time while also driving down overtime costs by keeping your production centres loaded.
The Planning Board enables Production Managers, business owners, and others, visibility and insight into production activity. This allows for better management of production stations, and will improve staff and machine efficiency.
This topic covers Planning Board Settings, if you're looking for the Planning Board interface, click here.
Default Production Stages can be loaded by the Install Scripts provided from QuickEasy Helpdesk.
Main Menu > Setup > Planning Board
This is where each stage of the Production process is listed. See below on how to edit or create a Production Stage.
Main Menu > Setup > Planning Board > Production Stages
Main Menu > Setup > Planning Board > Production Stages > Add/Edit
Description - This is where the Production Stage is named.
Status - This is the various Status that are applicable to that Production Stage, such as New, Waiting, Ready, Busy, Complete, and its assign colours are listed. Click Add to add another Status for the Stage.
Show Production Times - If the check box is selected, this setting enables the production times to be displayed in the Calendar.
Working Hours - These time parameters are the framework in which productive work takes place and are used to determine task start times as per the work load on the planning board. QuickEasy won't schedule tasks before 8am or after 5pm or on weekends by default.
BusyStatus - This setting informs QuickEasy of which tasks are in progress per staff member. First ensure there is a status named 'Busy' and then select that status in the 'BusyStatus' dropdown.
Ready Status - When the previous Stage is Completed, this Stage will automatically be set to the status selected in the Ready Status field.
This is where you link your Cost Centres to a specific Production Stage. This ensures that, should you have a Service linked to said Cost Centre, that it will appear in the appropriate Production Stage. The screenshot below is an example of Cost Centre settings.
Main Menu > Setup > Planning Board > Cost Centres
Cost Centre - Here all the pre-created Cost Centres are listed.
Production Stage - Here you can link the production stage, created in the Production Stages tab, to a specific Cost Centre.
This is where you link Suppliers to a specific Production Stage. This ensures that, if you have outsource suppliers, you can see what work has been sent to the suppliers directly from the Planning Board, or what work needs to be sent, and so on.
Main Menu > Setup > Planning Board > Suppliers
Supplier - Here all the pre-entered Suppliers are listed.
Production Stage - Here you can link a Production Stage to a Supplier if the Production Stage is outsourced.
Watch this short video on how to set-up the Planning Board Settings. In this example we will set-up a Folding Production Stage, link it to a Cost Centre and to a Supplier.
