Adjustments allow you to add mark-ups or discounts to materials, services, quotes and sales orders. Commissions allows you to allocate a portion of the sale price to the sales rep.
In BOSPrint Adjustments to prices can be set at various locations, example:
The same applies to Commission. A flat commission rate can be set for all sales personnel, or uniquely set per Customer.
This topic explains how Adjustments can be set-up and used in Quotations and Sales Orders.
The default setting for markup and commission is set in General Settings > Accounting. (See image below) You set this at a Customer level, and will override the default if it is different to the default markup.
Main Menu > Setup > Settings & Defaults > Settings > Accounting
Instead of using a fixed markup on all Quotations, the markup can vary according to the Category of work that is being estimated. For example, your default markup could be 40%, but when quoting on Digital work, you can mark up as high as 80%. To achieve this, the Adjust Markup by (%) field can be set to 200. When a Quote is linked to the Digital Category, the default markup of 40% is then multiplied by 200% which equals 80%.
Main Menu > Setup > Settings & Defaults > Lists & Categories > Job Categories
Customers can have their own unique markup adjustment, independent of the business's markup model. The Customer markup overrides the default markup and commission setting.
Main Menu > Setup > Customers > New/Edit > Accounting
The below screenshot demonstrates the application's ability to apply various markups on multiple line items and quantities. If you want to add a single markup value to all the Material Items in the Quotation you simply enter the value in the Add Adj% window and click Set (1)
