The VAT Control report calculates what value is due for VAT payment and displays a summary of Input and Output VAT for a selected period. You can Group, Sort, Filter and Output the report.

VAT Control Setup

Make sure to first set-up the following:

• Accounting Categories - Ensure the following Accounting Categories VAT settings are set to Input and Output. Navigate to Main Menu > Setup > Settings & Defaults > Accounting > Categories. See image below:

• VAT Account - Select the Account Category for VAT Control. Navigate to Main Menu > Setup > Settings & Defaults > Settings > Accounting > Account - VAT Control - Selects the VAT Account Category. See image below:

• VAT Types - Add the VAT Types your company uses. Navigate to Main Menu > Setup > Settings & Defaults > Accounting > VAT Types > Add. See image below:

• User Access - Sets the User access for the VAT Control and other Accounting statements. Navigate to Main Menu > Setup > Staff > Select User > Right-click > Edit > Settings > Accounting > Accounting Reports - Access Allowed > Yes. See image below:

Navigation

Main Menu > Accounting > VAT Control > View

1. Date filter - This allows you to select the period for the report and VAT Type.
2. VAT Transactions Only - This filter allows you to specify whether all transactions should be displayed or VAT Transactions only should be displayed.
3. Balance - This shows the value which is due for payment / refund as at the end date in the date filter. This will match the running Balance of the last transaction in the grid.
4. View Transaction - This will open the Transaction within the Ledger.
