Did you know that when you want to share files and videos with students, it's always a good idea to link them to your Moodle course instead of uploading them there directly?
Linking files and videos keeps the Moodle course compact and thus reduces the overall load on the site.
The contents of a compact Moodle course area are also easier to copy to new courses, and making backup files of it is more convenient.
A significant extra benefit of a linked file is that you can give students permission to edit it. In this way, you can, for example, create attendance lists or assignment selections as Excel spreadsheets.
