Forms in Tutor teaching

What for?

I as a tutor teacher used the application for an inquiry about opinions and experiences of 1st year students of architecture concerning the beginning of their study.


What I did?

I used O365 Forms to improve the efficiency of my tutor teaching. The inquiry made by Forms was based on four-five answer options per one question. I will use the answers to structure my tutor teaching discussions with the first-year students of architecture.

The main idea is to gather up student´s honest opinions of study orientation, fulfillment of study expectations, use of time. It is also important to find out if the students are under stress, have they enough time to recover and free time enough. One part of the inquiry handle study environment and students´ collaboration as a group.

The students answered the question before the tutor lesson. The main idea was - with the help of the answers - to raise time use theme and collaboration theme under the discussion, to underline the importance of those themes in study life.

How to use?

  • Log in O365 by using university's account http://office365.oulu.fi/

  • In the Applications menu, select "Forms"

  • Choose form type "New form" (plain form)

  • Add your question

  • Publish a form for answers by using the "Share" button

  • The application was easy to use with the help of some short Youtube videos.
