What for?

The program converts text to speech and allows:

- listening to text

- the simultaneous listening and tracking of text on the screen

- using features to help you read the text in different readings.


Suitable for anyone who wants to listen to text instead of reading or find digital tools to help you read.

Particularly benefits students with dyslexia.

How to get?

The program can easily be found on the Word Online version:

- select Word

- select the text to be read

- click "View" and "Immersive reader"

What I did?

We tested the program with a student group.


Useful features include for example:

- numerous language options

- fluent reading, which was pleasant to listen to

- adjustable reading speed and text size

- different backgrounds for your text, making it easier to read

- line focus: displays one or a few lines at a time, if desired

- byte spacing selectable

- word classes possible to differentiate with colors
