News Forum
What for and use case?
The News forum (also known as Announcements forum) is a special forum for teachers for sending announcements to course participants. Only the teachers of the course can post in the News forum and the posts are forwarded to course participants by email.
As a teacher you can use the News forum for
urgent announcements, for example about changes in the course schedule
informing and reminding students about current occurrences on the course, such as upcoming deadlines or new course topics
providing updates about changes in course contents.
How to get it?
The News forum is provided by default on the front page of a new Moodle course. The News forum is titled either “Uutiset / News” (Fordson theme) or “Uutiset” (Snap theme).
