How to easily convert
an image of text
into real text

What for?

An image of text is not accessible as such. Text should be made available as real text.

With the PDF-Change (available at Software Center), you can convert the image to text with optical character recognition (OCR).

What to do?

For all possible scenarios, where I have text as an image. Instead of having to type the text manually, I'd rather use optical character recognition (OCR). Open PDF-XChange.

You can install it to your computer from Software Center if needed. Open your image in the software. On the Convert tab, choose OCR Page(s). Now you can copy the text to the clipboard and paste it where needed.

What I did?

We had an image of text in our Teams. It was a screen capture of a video. I converted the image to text and added the text to conversation. Now the content is easier to find afterwards, as the search is text-based.
