The Board activity is specifically designed for anonymous collaborative work, but it can be used for many other purposes as well.
Board is the recommended alternative to using Padlet for teaching purposes.
You can use Board for example
• for thought-sharing
• for individual, pair or group work
• as a bulletin board
• for introducing participants at the beginning of a course or study session
• for course-related resource sharing
The Board activity is very intuitive.
The Board activity is one of the activities, tools, available in Moodle.
You can find more information and instructions on how to add the Board to your course in the University of Oulu's Teacher's Moodle Guide (see chapter “Board (Padlet alternative)”).
The guide also includes a SWOT analysis of the Board activity, which provides useful information and also an example of how to utilize the Board, as well as an opportunity to test its functionality in practice yourself.
To access the guide, log in to Moodle and register yourself in the Teacher's Guide course area, after which the Teacher's Moodle Guide will always be available to you. You can find the course key needed for registration on the registration page.
