What for?

Open badge is a digital proof of competence.

Badges are created and awarded to identify and recognise competences, skills, achievements, and attitudes. Badges can be shared, for example, on various social media channels.

University of Oulu uses the Open Badge Factory badge service. It is a cloud-based platform that can be used to create, issue, and manage Open Badges. You can collect your badges in the Open Badge Passport system.

How to create open badges?


University of Oulu's badges comply with the graphic identity of University of Oulu.

You can find the instructions and templates for the badges in the University of Oulu's material bank (graphic instructions) at
https://unioulusaml.materialbank.net/ui/home (section Dynamic Templates).

The badges are then created in OBF pages at
https://openbadgefactory.com/en/.



How to get it?

If you are interested in testing and using open badges, you can request access to the OBF system by sending an email to digiped[at]oulu.fi and start testing.
