Forms
- new features

What for?

The familiar Ms Forms is part of Microsoft's M365 applications and you can easily create online forms and surveys/quizzes. It's easy to use via the Edge browser and can be found in the Microsoft 365 Home menu. Keep in mind that students can also create and share Forms surveys.

Forms has evolved over the spring and is now even more useful for teaching purposes. For example, you can quickly create a quiz and share it with anyone via public link, or limit respondents to members of your M365 organisation.

You can also see the responses in an Excel spreadsheet and if the questions have a field for a name, you can also see who has answered the "free" survey.

How to use?

What I did?

Here are a couple of home brew tips and demos, including the use of CoPilot :

You can speed up your multiple choice questions with the CoPilot and export them as a Word file to Forms using the Forms "Quick-import" function. The trick with the CoPilot prompt is to ask the questions in Aiken-format. In this case, the text you receive in response is in the correct format for copy/paste, only a little editing is required. Tip: The same Aiken-format is also valid for the Moodle exam tool.

Note: On the planets demo I used Finnish prompt with this content: "Make a short quiz for adults on the planets of the solar system. Make five alternative questions. Please include the correct answers.  Make the questions in Aiken format."
You can try if the English version works in the same way. Note: Always remember to check the questions and answers provided by CoPilot.
