Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK) was a civil rights leader who fought peacefully for equal rights. Martin Luther King day this year was celebrated January 17th this year. Here are some pictures of the Martin Luther King center taken by one of our photographer Rain Stahlman.

Facts about Martin Luther King Jr.
His birth name was Michael not Martin. His father, a pastor at Atlanta’s Ebenezer Baptist Church, traveled to Germany and became inspired by the Protestant Reformation leader Martin Luther. As a result, King Sr. changed his own name as well as that of his five-year-old son.
2. He was imprisoned nearly 30 times while fighting for equal rights.
3. He entered college at the age of 15 because he was such a gifted student that he skipped grades nine and twelve before enrolling in 1944 at Morehouse College.
