Hello anime watchers, weebs, newbies and manga readers. This is another addition of Theories of Quinn Wade, this time we are discussing the character analysis of one Bakugo Katsuki from My Hero Academia. Thanks to Cat, who was the first one to fill out theories of Quinn Wade the form. For the new year, after winter break, the next issue will be going over an Attack on Titan theory in which Cat will help me with. However, please know, any bookworms, gamers, sports fans, and things of that such with other theories may also fill out the form with ideas. Without further adieu, here is the theory.

THEORY:
Bakugo’s Character Analysis.
Many weebs, anime, and my hero academia fans alike argue on what they think Bakugo's character is. Here is my personal opinion and point of view of Bakugo’s character.
Bakugo, from a young age, had a lot of pep in his step. He had confidence in himself; something Midoryia hadn’t had.
However, we notice that while Bakugo seems [key word being seems] more extroverted then introverted, he is actually an introvert. This is proven by the fact he seems to like being by himself and has a short fuse for anyone around him. His short fuse, I believe, may be a way to hide his Haphephobia, or a fear of people touching him. It is very clear he doesn’t like anyone in his personal space, nor anyone getting too close to him.
In a scene where Bakugo and Midoriya are each maybe four or five, Midoryia holds out his hand to help Bakugo after he’s fallen into a lake or river. Bakugo gets up and laughs it off, telling him he doesn’t need Deku's help.
However, what if this was only because he was scared to touch Midoriya’s hand. Midoryia was presient, and in his family hugs and kisses on the cheek were welcomed. Bakugo never had that, ever. His touches insisted of pain; whether that was a slap or a hit, it was pain. Not like he ever complained; but still, that made him space himself away from people.
When we look at Bakugo’s character we notice he’s keen to point out the obvious in people. This creates his nicknames; Raccoon Eyes, (Mina Ashido) Dunce Face, (Denki Kaminari) Glasses, (Tenya Iida) and Grape (Mineta). All of these names say something about that person; Ashido, her eyes, Kaninari, the fact that when overusing his quirk he fades into a level of stupidness. Iida is simple; He has glasses, ergo the name: Glasses. And Grape is easy for Mineta because his quirk looks like he’s using big grapes and he looks like a grape himself.
But these nicknames don’t necessarily make him distant with them; It actually helps him learn them better. Once he can get past the obvious, like Deku being quirkless, he can try to figure out what they’d be like underneath. I personally think he’s been using nicknames since he was little and it’s become a habit because that’s how he gets to know people better.
All in all Bakugo is a sensitive character, who has trust issues, and hides emotions constantly. He isn’t comfortable in his own skin and strives to be the best to prove something.
This next theory is simply a rewrite of my last theory. Why Kirishima was able to befriend Bakugo quick than Midoriya: Explained. Now that you have the analysis, you can better understand this theory.
THEORY:
Why Kirishima was able to befriend Bakugo quicker than Midoryia: Explained.
Honestly, a lot of weebs argue about this. I don't get it, I mean, it's just friendships - but as a theorist, I pondered on the question too. How was Kirishima able to befriend Bakugo quicker? Today, with research, I have your answer.
Kirishima, everyone’s favorite sunshine extroverted red-headed anime character, was able to befriend the hotheaded closed-in introverted Bakugo because he wasn’t scared of him like Midoryia. If you look at middle school, both anime and manga (though I haven’t read past the third.) you can see Midoryia was scared of Bakugo (not to say there wasn’t a reason to be scared of the blond) and some of that fear still remains in Midoriya for our explosive blond. Bakugo was one of those characters that you’d had to dig deep for to find emotions, and here’s what I’ve learned:
Bakugo does not do wimps.
In fact, he hates them with a burning passion, which most know with the tiniest glance or overhearing just a bit about Bakugo. Either way, Bakugo doesn’t do wimps. He just can’t.
Another thing, Bakugo can actually remember Kirishima’s name and says it more often than anyone else's. Sure, he has nicknames, some including, [crappy] hair, and, when in a good mood, Red, but he says Kirishima's name more than any other student in UA.
A common reason is that Kirishima was able to befriend him for a lack of better words simply because he was low-key and straightforward to understand. He was easier to understand, his main vocabulary is “manly” and “unmanly”, two simple words that detect his mood. Midoriya was difficult, rambling and muttering over and over again.
Because Kirishima is easier to understand, he was more likely to become Bakugo’s friend from the beginning. However, there is another reason that Bakugo chose Kirishima to be his friend, or rather, the closest thing he has that fits the friend definition.
Kirishima’s hardening quirk can withstand Bakugo’s quirk - the ability to withstand a quirk, one as strong as Bakugo’s, is powerful enough to make Kirishima seem more likely because Bakugo knows one thing: He can’t hurt Kirishima, not like he could hurt Midoriya. With this in mind, Kirishima seems more likely to be friends with our favorite angry pomeranian.
For one thing, Kirishima is physically and mentally able to befriend Bakugo just by his personality. He's a literally ray of sunshine! Kirishima's like his quirk, very stubborn stupid rock that wouldn't let up, and didn't give up, even when Bakugo pushed him away (literally and metaphorically). He stayed with him, not cowering from him. Midoriya is more stubborn, yes, always trailing around Kachann! A name that Bakugo seemingly dislikes. Like we previously stated, Midoryia is a wimp, at least by Bakugo Katsuki standards, and at the time Kirishima was more stubborn, always trailing around Bakugo, always pestering him, like Midoryia, but different.
Kirishima didn’t annoy Bakugo like Midoryia did, calling him “Kachann” every five seconds. He wasn’t tiresome to him, mumbling under his breath where he couldn’t understand. Kirishima was actually a somewhat okay person for Bakugo, he didn’t annoy him like the other people in Class 1-A. He was a manly dude, and Bakugo saw that, whether he likes to admit it or not.
Also, Kirishima was the only one willing to save Bakugo after the kidnapping. Without help from pro-heroes, because it was pretty obvious how they weren’t going to save him. Not right away at least. Midoryia says it himself: “It can’t be anyone else Kirishima. If his friend says come I’m sure he’ll listen.” Or something along the lines of that. My point is, Midoyira listed a bunch of people, Iida, himself, Uraraka, etc. Even Midoriya knew that Bakugo and Kirishima were closer than he and Bakugo had ever been.
I’ve heard a lot of people say “Midoriya should be Bakugo’s friend” and that the “Bakusquad” (Fan dubbed group with Denki Kaminari, Eijirou Kirishima, Mina Ashido, Kyoako Jiro, and, the person it’s named after, Katsuki Bakugo.) isn’t an actual squad.
To this I say, put yourself in Bakugo’s shoes. There is obviously trauma that no one wants to call out. Even if you don’t watch My Hero Academia, just from this you can tell, there is obviously something wrong with Bakugo. Something dark within his past. The Dekusquad presses into issues, while the Bakusquad just leaves the crap well enough alone.
To put it shortly, Kirishima was just him, Kirishima. This is how he was able to become Bakugo’s friend. At first, he was seen as an ally, someone not to be close with but someone to tolerate. Someone that was powerful. After the kidnapping, and the way Kirishima wouldn’t let Bakugo’s coldness get to him., they became friends - or, in Bakugo’s case, the closest thing he’ll ever have to a friend.
