Do you listen to music? Probably. Music can have different effects on different people. My question is, how does it affect your mood? For me, I listen to music while doing homework, articles, brainstorming ideas, and other things. I listen to it when I can’t figure out a problem or I feel like if I don’t answer this question in the next five minutes I’m going to start pulling my hair out.
Music has different effects on everyone and everyone has a different taste in music. Some people like pop, others like country. Some people only listen to Chris Brown, others only listen to James Aurthur. Most of the time we don’t even know we’re picky about music but we are. I listen to a bunch of different artists and depending on what I listen to, it has different effects on my mood. It’s like rain. When it’s not raining you're not sleeping, you're wide awake. Raining? You don’t want to do anything but sleep.
Now, music itself depends on the person. I like different artists, and ‘sad songs’ that aren’t really that sad. I mean, sure the lyrics are sad but it has a deeper meaning. Like My mind is a prison, by Alec Benjamin. Personally, it took me a bit to like this song, because I never really explored the artist themself. Or, Death of a hero. I listen to these songs while doing homework. I know, what? Why would you listen to those while doing homework?! Well, for me they are calming songs. Very good and calming.
How does it calm you? What’s your favorite song, and why? Mine’s a new one, Billie Elish, Everything I ever wanted. I liked this song because it says that ‘I had a dream, I got everything I wanted, Not what you’d think, if I’m being honest it might’ve been a nightmare.’ I like these lyrics themself because of how it says that everything you wanted could actually happen, and be a nightmare.
For different people, music can be calming or change your mood. Listen to mad music when your sad, it may make you feel better. All in all, music changes your mood and deepens the meaning for many people. My last question for you, is, how does it calm you?
