If you're getting an artificial tree this Christmas, make sure to keep it away from fireplaces or other sources of heat.
When having a live tree in your house, keep it well watered and make sure no needles fall off.
When hanging stockings on the fireplace, make sure that the fireplace is NOT lit to avoid any fires.
Turn off your lights when you leave the house or go to bed.
Keep raw meat away from produce in the kitchen.
Make sure children don’t have access to mistletoe, holly berries and Jerusalem cherries; they can be potentially poisonous if ingested in large quantities.
Keep shopping receipts in your purse/wallet. It’s harder for a thief to steal it and return your items for cash.
