I’m sure you have heard of King of Pops but have you heard about Queen of cream? Located on Elizabeth St, right off the Beltline, this hidden gem is the place to go. Aside from the convenient location, the Queen of Cream is covid friendly and an easy stop. Rather than entering a store to get ice cream, you place your order through a window. There is a lot of nearby art around the shop, including one of Atlanta’s #TinyDoors.
While the location is aesthetic, the ice cream is also top-notch! Currently, the menu consists of 8 flavors which offers something for everyone. From classic flavors such as chocolate or vanilla to unique combinations like Lavender Honeycomb to Brown Butter Pecan, this cute spot has so much to offer! The second Queen of Cream location opened in September at Plaza on Ponce located between Insomnia Cookies and the Majestic diner on Cleburne Terrace. However, due to the effects of Covid-19, it closed leaving the only location the one in Inman Park. When I went to review this place, I tried the Black Pearl (charcoal) and Cookies and Cream ice cream. Both were delicious and rich with flavor, and I definitely recommend them. The scoop portion is generous and the waffle cone cannot be beaten. Queen of Cream makes their ice cream in the house, 100% from scratch. They are open Friday - Sunday: 12pm - 7pm. Next time you’re strolling down the Beltline, make a stop at Queen of Cream and support this fantastic small business.
