If you have gone to use the bathroom at David T Howard middle school. Then you have probably seen something missing. It could be a soap dispenser, a hand dryer, a toilet seat, or even a whole bathroom stall door. Last month the tik tok trend called “devious licks” hit our school. At first it was funny, but after a while it got annoying. It got so serious that the school had to lock the bathrooms.Recently the trend has died out and they opened them up again, but has the trend really died to the students of our school? Recently in the 7th grade bathrooms, a toilet seat has gone missing, a soap dispenser has been ripped off the wall, and screws for a hand dryer have been thrown in the toilet!
Now the newest question is, how should our school handle this? I went to some students and got their opinions.
“It was funny at first but slowly it got overrated and annoying, teachers got really mad and they would take it out on the students. And because they didn't know who did it, they blamed everyone.” - McCall Murphree 7th grader
“I think it was really stupid for the people who did it, there going to punish the whole school, they should just try to find the people who did it instead of blaming everyone else” - Vivian Simmons 7th grader
So what's next? Will our school fix the bathrooms? Will they find the culprit? Or will they lock the bathrooms again?
