As we all know, Joe Biden (full name Joseph Robinette Biden Jr.) is the new 46th president. Not only is this amazing but for Georgia, it’s also historical. We haven’t been blue in an election since 1992. If you do the math that’s almost thirty years! Let's take a closer look at the actual votes.
The electoral votes had President Biden at 306 and ex-President Trump had 232. When we break that down to the percentages, Biden had 51% while Trump had 46%. The people who voted for each candidate can be broken down even further. Biden had 81,283,485. Trump had 74,223,744.
Did you know some votes didn’t even go to Trump or Biden? Some votes actually went to Kanye West! Around 3,678 went to this 43-year old rapper. He actually announced his run for president on a Twitter post. Then there were the recounts. Ex-President Trump sued Georgia, along with a few other states, to recount the election. Non of Ex-President Trump's efforts proved to have any evidence of widespread fraud and all recounts certified candidate Joe Biden as the winner of the 2020 Presidential election. Ex-President Trump still holds that the election was rigged.
