04. Velocity-time graphs

Learning intentions:

    • what a horizontal line on a velocity-time graph tells us

    • how to tell from a velocity-time graph if an object is accelerating or decelerating

    • what the area under a velocity-time graph tells us

Task

  1. Use the car chase to time when the car gets to those speeds.

  2. Change speed to velocity and plot a graph of velocity against time. Use graph paper and a pencil.

  3. Calculate the acceleration at each stage using the equation. Acceleration = final velocity - starting velocity time

  4. The distance travelled is the area under the graph. How far did the car go in that time.

The video comes in two parts.
