05. Simple circuits

How does an electric circuit work?

Activity - Constructing a simple circuit.

Activity - Conductor or insulator?

Electrical conductors are substances that do/do not allow an electrical current to flow through them.

Electrical insulators are substances that do/do not allow an electrical current to flow through them.

How could you investigate whether a material is an electrical conductor or an electrical insulator using the following circuit?

When you have planned out your investigation take a photo of how you will set up the equipment and get it checked before you start to make sure it is safe.

Make a table of your results.

Can you...

> make a simple circuit so a bulb will light up

> draw a simple circuit diagram

> identify a material as an electrical conductor or an electrical insulator
