To recognize former student athletes, alumni, coaches, teams and/or individuals for outstanding athletic achievement, professional accomplishments and/or exemplary community contributions to DeWitt High School athletics.
 

Hall of Fame Unveils Induction Class of 2017

The DHS Athletic Hall of Fame is proud to introduce the Induction Class of 2017.  Congratulations to the following teams and individuals:

  • 1989 Boys Football Team
  • 1998 Girls Softball Team
  • Dena Droste
  • Deb Rambow

Date Set for Induction Class of 2017

The induction ceremony will take place on Friday, September 8, 2017 during halftime of the home varsity football game vs. Mason.  Prior to the ceremony, there will be a private pregame reception in the high school beginning at 5:00 p.m.  There will also be an unveiling of plaques immediately following the reception.  A complete biography and photo of each inducted member will be etched into a plaque that will be mounted on the brick wall directly west of the gymnasium doors in the athletic and performance corridor.


Hall of Fame Accepting Nominations

The DHS Athletic Hall of Fame is currently accepting nominations for the Induction Class of 2018.  To be honored with induction, teams will be eligible five years after completion of their exceptional season; athletes will be eligible five years after graduation from high school, and other individuals such as coaches/administrators and community supporters will have immediate eligibility.  Additionally, persons nominating an individual or team must not have a direct family relationship to the individual or team.  All nomination forms will be kept on file for future consideration.  If you would like to nominate an individual or team, print and complete a nomination form by accessing the following link (http://dewittschools.net/downloads/athletics/fame.pdf). .  Completed nomination forms can be sent to:

The deadline for nominations for the Induction Class of 2018 is December 31, 2017. The DHS Athletic Hall of Fame is also encouraging community members to submit memorabilia such as newspaper clippings, team photos, and any other documents to further highlight the induction classes. 


Hall of Fame Seeking Donations

The Hall of Fame is also seeking financial support. While it is associated with DeWitt Public Schools, the DHS Hall of Fame is privately funded. Donations may qualify as a tax deductible contribution for income tax purposes. For more information, or if you would like to make a donation, print and complete a donation form by accessing the following link
