Erica Goodenough, a 2012 DeWitt graduate, earned seven varsity letters in basketball and soccer. In basketball, the two-time All-League point guard helped lead the Panthers to an impressive 53-12 record with three straight CAAC-Gold titles. Her unselfish play and relentless defensive intensity and hustle were contagious and set her apart from the pack. In soccer, she earned All-League, All-Area, and All-State each of her four varsity seasons. DeWitt compiled a remarkable 77-16-4 record, captured three CAAC titles, and brought home one CAAC Gold Cup Championship during her career. As a captain her junior and senior years, she guided the Panthers to an incredible run of three consecutive Division 2 state semi-final appearances. A three-time selection as a member of the Lansing State Journal (LSJ) “Dream Team,” she was named the LSJ “Player of the Year” as a junior. She still owns the top spot as DeWitt’s all-time leader in goals (115) and currently stands in third for assists with 70. Goodenough was DeWitt’s Female Athlete of the Year in 2012. A three-time Michigan High School Soccer Coaches Association “Dream Team” selection, she continued her career at Michigan State University in the fall of 2012. As a Spartan, she brought the same passion and heart to the field, playing whatever role would help her team be successful. Goodenough was an All-Academic Big Ten selection for three seasons, drawing high praise for her leadership skills both on and off the field.
