Teri Osborn

Teri Osborn, a 1990 DeWitt graduate, excelled in both cross country and track making her one of the most decorated individual runners in school history.  She earned All-League and All-Area honors on the cross country course all four years of high school.  She was selected All-State as a sophomore as she helped lead DeWitt to the 1987 Class C Girls State Championship in cross country.  As a junior, the team finished third in the state, but Osborn finished first overall individually.  During her senior season, she captured another league championship before completing her high school career with an 11th place finish at the state championships.  Osborn was also a standout in track, earning All-League honors all four years of high school.  She was a member of the league champion 3200 meter relay team as both a freshman and a sophomore.  As a junior, she took home league championships in the 3200 meter run, 1600 meter run, and 3200 meter relay.  At the end of her senior year, Osborn was chosen as DeWitt’s Female Athlete of the Year in 1990.  At Lansing Community College, she was a member of the 1991 Women’s Cross Country National Championship team.  She finished runner-up individually, earning All-American status as well as the team’s Most Valuable Runner award.  At Grand Valley State University, she became the indoor 5K women’s champion twice (1993 and 1994) and the outdoor 10K women’s champion in 1993.  When she finished as a Laker, she held the school record in the 10,000 meter run and was the team’s Most Valuable Runner.  Balancing academic success with athletic prowess, she stands as a fine role model for DeWitt’s female student-athletes.
