Dan Hill

Dan Hill, a DeWitt graduate from the Class of 1965, served DeWitt Public Schools as an elementary teacher for 41 years. While he impacted the lives of countless young students in the classroom, his induction into the DeWitt Athletic Hall of Fame stems from his many seasons as a scorekeeper and statistician in both the girls’ and boys’ basketball programs.  Starting in the early 1990s in the era of paper and pencil statistics, his volunteer service extended over three decades. Up until 2006, girls played in the fall in the state of Michigan, so Hill volunteered for girls’ games in the fall as well as boys’ basketball in the winter seasons. While multiple coaches certainly appreciate his time and dedication through the years, he is remembered by Panther players for his generosity both during the season and to graduating seniors at the post-season banquets.
