Rob Rambow

Rob Rambow, a 1993 DeWitt graduate, was a three-sport letter winner in football, swimming and baseball. While a serious knee injury cut his promising football career short during his junior season, Rambow would overcome adversity and have his greatest success on the baseball diamond, earning All-State honors three times. When he graduated, he held nine school records in baseball, one single-season state record with 19 home runs, and one state championship game record with three stolen bases. During his senior season, Rambow helped lead the varsity baseball team to the Class B State Championship in 1993. He picked up the win in the championship game after a one-inning relief appearance and scored the winning run in the bottom of the 11th inning for a 4-3 win over Carleton Airport. Rambow had an unprecedented post-season run that year. He would hit 10 home runs over the course of eight state tournament games, hitting at least one in every game except the state final. During regional tournament action, Rambow hit four home runs on the day, including three in the regional final. He also led off the state semi-final game with a home run. His record-setting season earned him the honor of playing in the East-West All-Star Game at Tiger Stadium. Rambow continued playing baseball at Coastal Carolina before finishing his career at Central Michigan University.Â
